With the Bundesliga campaign now over, the boys in the studio give out their end-of-season awards! As ever, there was plenty of discussion as they decided on their best XI of the term.

MD34 – Despair for Bremen as Union clinch European football

The Bundesliga season is now over!!! On the final day of the campaign, Bielefeld secure survival with a 2-0 win over Stuttgart, Bremen fall out of the top flight by losing 4-2 to Mönchengladbach, while Union Berlin earn a spot in the Europa Conference League with a 2-1 win over Leipzig.

MD33 – Dortmund & Wolfsburg get Champions League as Schalke shock Frankfurt

There is just one Bundesliga matchday left this season! Dortmund and Wolfsburg secure Champions League qualification with a 3-1 win over Mainz and a 2-2 draw with Leipzig respectively, while Frankfurt's chances evaporate following their 4-3 defeat to Schalke. Hertha survive thanks to a 0-0 draw with Köln, as do Augsburg with a 2-0 victory against Bremen.

MD32 – Nine in a row for Bayern and Dortmund take back a Champions League spot

Bayern are champions once more! They celebrate their status as champions with a 6-0 win over Gladbach after Dortmund defeat Leipzig 3-2. Frankfurt only manage a 1-1 draw with Mainz, while Wolfsburg breeze past Union 3-0.

MD31 – Bayern’s title celebrations on hold and Dortmund’s run continues

Bayern are made to wait for their ninth Bundesliga title in a row as they lose 2-1 to Mainz, Dortmund pick up their consecutive win with a 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg, and Köln keep their hopes of survival alive with a 3-2 win over Augsburg.

MD30 – Bayern one win away from the title as Schalke bid farewell

The Englische Woche provided plenty of talking points in the Bundesliga! Bayern are one win away from the title as they beat Leverkusen 2-0, Schalke's relegation is confirmed as they lose 1-0 to Bielefeld, and Köln shock Leipzig with a 2-1 victory.

MD29 – Gladbach put Frankfurt to the sword as Funkel’s Köln flail

The Bundesliga saw plenty of captivating action during matchday 29! Gladbach put Frankfurt to the sword, Bayern beat Wolfsburg 3-2, Funkel's return to Köln started poorly with a 3-0 defeat to Leverkusen and Union narrowly edge past Frankfurt.

MD28 – Frankfurt win 7 goal thriller and Mainz grab a last minute winner

The Bundesliga provided plenty of action this past matchday! Frankfurt beat Wolfsburg 4-3 to consolidate their top-four spot, Bayern draw 1-1 with Union Berlin, Mainz defeat Köln 3-2 and Leipzig hammer Werder Bremen 4-1.

MD25 – Bayern edge closer to the title as the Mainz comeback train rolls on

It is now six defeats in a row for Marco Rose at Mönchengladbach after they were beaten 3-1 by Augsburg! Elsewhere, Dortmund beat Hertha 2-0, Bayern defeat Bremen 3-1 and Mainz pick up a big three points against Freiburg with a 1-0 victory.

MD24 – Bayern triumph in the “Klassiker“ whilst the gloom at Gladbach continues

Bayern stage a fantastic comeback to beat Borussia Dortmund 4-2 in Der Klassiker! Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Leverkusen edge past Mönchengladbach 1-0, Hoffenheim stun Wolfsburg 2-1 and Leipzig breeze past Freiburg 3-0.

MD23 – Chaos reigns at Schalke as Bayern and Dortmund win ahead of the “Klassiker“

The chaos continues at Schalke as Christian Gross, Jochen Schneider and a number of other staff members depart the club after their 5-1 defeat to Stuttgart! Bayern and Dortmund win prior to Der Klassiker, while Frankfurt lose for the first time in 12 games, against Bremen.

MD22 – Frankfurt stun Bayern as Mainz keep survival hopes alive

The gap at the top of the Bundesliga is now down to just two points! Bayern lose 2-1 to Frankfurt, and Leipzig take advantage with a 3-0 win over Hertha Berlin. Mainz shock Gladbach 2-1 and Wolfsburg ease past Augsburg 3-0.

MD21 – Mainz profit from Leverkusen collapse, Dortmund continue to struggle

Matchday 21 of the 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign will be remembered for its draws - there were seven in total! Mainz come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Leverkusen, will Dortmund against Hoffenheim ends with the same scoreline. Elsewhere, Frankfurt beat Koln 2-0 and Wolfsburg versus Gladbach ends goalless.

MD20 – Köln edge the Rheinderby as Dortmund continue to struggle

Köln pick up a huge win in one of the Bundesliga's biggest match-ups, the Rheinderby versus Borussia Monchengladbach! Dortmund fall again, this time to Freiburg, while Frankfurt and Wolfsburg defeat Hoffenheim and Augsburg respectively.

MD19 – Champions League race twists again as Frankfurt and Wolfsburg move into the top 4

The Champions League race is hotting up in the Bundesliga! Frankfurt come from behind to beat Hertha 3-1 and Wolfsburg defeat Freiburg 3-0. Koln prevail 3-1 over Bielefeld, and Bayern hammer Hoffenheim 4-1.

MD18 – Gladbach march on as the Champions League race hots up

Bayern open their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to seven points with a 4-0 win at Schalke! Mainz stun Leipzig 3-2, Gladbach beat Dortmund 4-2, and Bruno Labbadia and Michael Preetz lose their jobs at Hertha after a 4-1 loss to Werder Bremen.

MD17 – Bayern end the Hinrunde on top and it’s absolute despair for Schalke

Bayern finally grab a clean sheet in the Bundesliga as they beat Augsburg 1-0! Schalke are heartbroken as Koln score late on to win 2-1, Leipzig edge past Union 1-0, and Leverkusen get back on track with a 2-1 defeat of Dortmund.

MD16 – Bayern take advantage as Leipzig, Leverkusen and Dortmund all drop points

Bayern move four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga thanks a 2-1 victory over Freiburg. Dortmund and Leipzig can only draw, while Union and Frankfurt beat Leverkusen and Schalke respectively.

MD15 – The wait is over for Schalke while Gladbach stun Bayern

Finally, Schalke have won in the Bundesliga! They end a 359-day wait for victory with a 4-0 hammering of Hoffenheim. Bayern lose 3-2 to Monchengladbach, Dortmund defeat Leipzig 3-1 and Freiburg smash Koln 5-0.

MD14 – New Year, same old Schalke, while Bayern dig themselves out of a hole

A new year for the Bundesliga, but the same old Schalke! Die Königsblauen lose 3-0 to Hertha in Christian Gross' first game as manager to take their winless top-flight streak to 30. Bayern come from behind to beat Mainz 5-2, Dortmund prevail 2-0 over Wolfsburg, and Union beat Bremen by the same scoreline.

Edin Terzic got off to the perfect Bundesliga start with Borussia Dortmund thanks to a 2-1 win over Werder Bremen! Bayer Leverkusen breeze past Köln 4-0, Bayern beat Wolfsburg 2-1 and Schalke lose 2-0 to Freiburg.

MD11 – Favre is shown the door at Dortmund as Leverkusen top the Bundesliga

Lucien Favre is out of the door at Borussia Dortmund after their 5-1 defeat to Stuttgart! Bayern draw 1-1 at Union Berlin, Leverkusen beat Hoffenheim 4-1 and Schalke draw 2-2 with Augsburg.

MD09 – Köln finally have that winning feeling as Dortmund flounder

Plenty of thrilling action once again from the Bundesliga this past weekend! Koln beat Dortmund 2-1 for their first win in 19 games, while Bayern and Leipzig take advantage with 3-1 and 2-1 victories respectively. Gladbach beat Schalke 4-1, and Union and Frankfurt draw 3-3.

MD08 – Haaland scores 4 for Dortmund as Bayern and Leipzig stumble

The Bundesliga returned with a bang after the international break! Haaland was the man of moment, scoring four against Hertha in a 5-2 win, while Bayern and Leipzig draw with Bremen and Frankfurt respectively.

#2: The Bundesliga and Social Media

With no Bundesliga football this week, we return to our Bundesliga Diaries Shorts series. In this second installment, we spoke to Kara Head, Bayer Leverkusen's English Twitter admin, about her job and the impact of social media on Bundesliga football.

There were goals galore in the Bundesliga this past weekend! Bayern beat Dortmund 3-2, Mainz and Schalke draw 2-2, while Union Berlin hammer Arminia Bielefeld 5-0.

MD06 – Mainz set an unwanted club record as Bayern and BVB set up “Der Klassiker”

Der Klassiker is just around the corner! Bayern and Dortmund prepare perfectly with 2-1 and 2-0 victories against Koln and Bielefeld respectively, whilst Mainz make it six defeats in a row this term against Augsburg. Monchengladbach beat Leipzig 1-0, and Leverkusen prevail 4-2 against Freiburg.

MD05 – Dortmund with expected Revierderby win as Bayern continues to dominate

The Bundesliga action continues! Borussia Dortmund win the Revier derby with ease, prevailing 3-0, whilst Bayern beat Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0. Borussia Monchengladbach win 3-2 against Mainz and Leipzig edge past Hertha Berlin 2-1.

MD04 – Köln and Schalke with their first points, Bayern score four

The Bundesliga is back, with plenty of action for us to discuss! Bayern ease past Bielefeld 4-1, whilst Köln and Schalke pick up their first points of the season. Dortmund beat Hoffenheim 1-0, as Leipzig defeat Augsburg 2-0 in a top of the table clash.

No Bundesliga football hasn't stopped us from recording! This week, we discuss the latest Germany fixtures, whilst we also look back at the final day of the transfer window.
